It is important to understand and appreciate your own behavioral style. Knowing your behavioral style is important in applying for jobs and working with others on projects. “A person who can adapt their own style to the way in which others want to communicate is seen as a great benefit to any organization.” The first step is to determine if you are an open or reserved individual. An open person easily expresses emotions, thoughts, feelings, and ideas. Open people want to be comfortable and establish good interpersonal relationships before doing business. Conversely, a reserved person is comfortable keeping his/her distance in interpersonal relationships.
