Charter Schools Rank in Top 100 High Schools

            Newsweek continues to assess the quality of education through its top 100 ranking system, though it is criticized by many.  The economic efficiency and extracurricular choices provided by the larger schools of the past are slowly being replaced by smaller, independent, and alternative charter schools.  Raising academic standards and teacher accountability for student performance are the driving forces behind this change.
