University of Miami Law to Defer Incoming Students; JD Journal, Jul 1, 2009.

The University of Miami is asking its accepted first-year law students to postpone their first year of school until the Fall of 2010. A $5000 Public Interest Deferral Scholarship will be given for the students who defer the first year of school provided they have completed 120 hours of public service work.  Those deferring entry also have a greater chance of obtaining other scholarships from the university,
