West Virginia creates “School Innovation Zones”

The West Virginia state legislature passed legislation permitting the creation of “school innovation zones.” This allows public school districts to move beyond state law and experiment with other types of education models and policies. Teachers would have more authority with regards to the daily operations of their school. Research has shown improvements in student and teacher behavior in teacher-led schools.
