Time Machine: Emma’s Legal Education, 2025

Paul Boudreaux, Time Machine: Emma’s Legal Education, 2025, 59 Journal of Legal Education 3, 454 (2010).

This short story is a tale that attempts to predict the future of legal education and the changes that may affect the  future of legal curriculum. It narrates the story of a young woman in law school and juxtaposes the differences between the style of legal education in the future compared to that which we are familiar with today.  New technology, interactive videos, decreased tuition costs, the disappearance of law professors, and the brevity of court opinions and legal commentary are just a few of the changes that the story attempts to persuade the reader have happened in the legal education world.
