The End of the “3L”

Accelerated J.D., Available at http://www.law.northwestern.edu/academics/ajd/

Northwestern University is the first top tier law school to offer an accelerated J.D. program.  Northwestern’s two year J.D. program allows students to finish law school in five semesters.  Students begin school in May, join the next incoming class for the fall and spring semesters, work the second summer, and return for two more semesters.  Students in the accelerated program have less autonomy to choose classes, but are rewarded by eliminating the “3L” year.
